Gangnam Onda Lifting

Hello,
I am Dr. Conan, Medical Director of Seoul GU Clinic.

In recent years, the number of lifting treatments has increased significantly.

Ultherapy, Thermage, Soprano Titanium and more.

As devices using various forms of energy such as radiofrequency and ultrasound have diversified, patients now have more options to choose from.

Naturally, many of you may be wondering,
“Which treatment is right for me?”

"A Common Question We Hear"

Many patients ask: Is there a treatment that causes less pain,
has minimal downtime, and shows visible results quickly?

In the past, there was a common belief that more pain meant better results. However, with advances in medical technology, it is now possible to achieve effective results without significant discomfort. Onda Lifting, which I will introduce today, is a representative example.

The Principle of Onda Lifting

Onda Lifting uses ultra short microwave energy, which is physically the same type of wave used in microwave ovens. However, it is delivered at a much lower and medically controlled output.

The power, frequency, and delivery method are precisely adjusted to meet medical device standards.

By heating the deep dermal layer to approximately 40 to 50 degrees Celsius, the treatment aims to stimulate collagen regeneration and improve skin elasticity.

Characteristics of Ultra Short Microwave Energy

The ultra short microwave energy used in Onda Lifting has a short wavelength and strong linearity.

This allows the energy to penetrate deeply into the dermis and fat layer while minimizing damage to the skin surface.

The energy is selectively absorbed, gently heating only the areas where thermal stimulation is needed.

As a result, both skin tightening and fat layer contraction can be targeted simultaneously.

How It Differs From Other Lifting Treatments

When searching for lifting treatments, the most commonly encountered options are Thermage using radiofrequency and ultrasound based treatments such as HIFU and Shurink.

All of these are non surgical lifting procedures that use heat energy to stimulate collagen and improve elasticity.

However, the type of energy and the mechanism of action differ for each treatment.

✔️ Onda Lifting uses ultra short microwave energy at approximately 2.45 GHz.
Electromagnetic waves pass through the tissue, causing polar molecules to vibrate and generate heat.
This allows uniform and broad heat delivery to deeper skin layers.

✔️ Thermage uses radiofrequency current.
The current flows along tissue resistance, generating frictional heat that stimulates collagen contraction and regeneration in the dermis.

✔️ Shurink and other HIFU treatments use focused mechanical vibration energy.
High temperatures of 60 to 70 degrees Celsius are generated at a single targeted point, stimulating the deep SMAS layer.

Gangnam Onda Lifting for Face and Body

Unlike many lifting treatments that are limited to the face, Onda Lifting can also be applied to the body.

For those seeking a slimmer facial appearance, it promotes collagen regeneration and fat cell breakdown, helping improve elasticity and refine facial contours.

When applied to body areas such as the abdomen, upper arms, or thighs, it helps reduce localized fat and create smoother body lines.

Customized Application With Two Handpieces

Although Onda Lifting uses a single device, it is equipped with 3 mm and 7 mm handpieces. Each handpiece targets different depths and produces different effects.

The 3 mm handpiece focuses on skin elasticity. It targets the upper subcutaneous fat layer and lower dermis.
It promotes tightening and collagen remodeling, helping refine facial contours and cheekbone lines.

The 7 mm handpiece delivers energy to deeper layers. It uses heat to break down fat cells and stimulate collagen fibers. It is effective for double chin, sagging cheeks, and body areas such as the abdomen, arms, and thighs.

Skin is not uniform. Thickness, fat distribution, and required stimulation vary by area. By tailoring the approach for each area, it is possible to reduce unnecessary volume and encourage fat cell contraction.

Is the Pain Really Minimal?

Onda Lifting is considered a fourth generation lifting treatment and is known for significantly lower pain levels compared to other methods.

This is not because the energy output is weak, but because the energy delivery method is fundamentally different. Radiofrequency and ultrasound based treatments concentrate energy at a single point, rapidly heating tissue.

As the energy passes through the epidermis, sensations such as stinging, redness, or heat may occur.

In contrast, Onda Lifting selectively targets water molecules within the skin. This results in minimal surface stimulation while generating heat only within the dermal and subcutaneous layers. Because of this internal localized heating mechanism, discomfort during treatment is greatly reduced.

Who May See Less Effect

The effects and comfort level of Gangnam Onda Lifting vary by individual. Patients with very little facial fat may experience a hollow or indented sensation.

For such cases, treatments like Sofwave or Soprano Titanium may be more suitable. Onda Lifting is particularly effective for patients with fuller facial fat who want a more defined facial line.

To Experience the Full Effect

Today, I introduced Onda Lifting, which utilizes ultra short microwave energy. Its strengths lie in minimizing pain while simultaneously improving skin elasticity and reducing fat, as well as its ability to treat both face and body.

Because the most appropriate treatment depends on individual skin condition and concerns, I strongly recommend thorough consultation and a personalized treatment plan.

Thank you for reading.
