Fine Lines, Dull Skin, and Loss of Firmness: Which Treatment Should You Start With in Seoul?

Fine lines, dullness, or loose skin? Explore which treatment to start with at GU Clinic in Seoul, from Dysport and Re2O Fine to XERF and Ultherapy PRIME.

If you are noticing fine lines, a dull complexion, and less firmness in your mid-30s, start with the change that bothers you most. We recommend wrinkle-relaxing injections such as Dysport for expression lines, Re2O Fine for persistent fine lines and crepey texture around the eyes, and skin tightening such as XERF for mild laxity. Dryness and brown patches need their own approach, so the reason your skin looks dull matters just as much as the wrinkles.

At GU Clinic Gangnam, we bring these options together around your priorities. Each treatment should have a clear job: soften muscle-driven lines, address skin texture, improve firmness, or treat uneven pigmentation. You can start with one treatment and add another when there is a separate concern to address.

Which concern should you treat first?

Choose the feature you would most like to change, then match the treatment to its cause. A line that deepens when you frown calls for a different approach from fine creases in dry skin.

Your main concern

Where we recommend starting

Why

Forehead or frown lines that become more visible with expression

Wrinkle-relaxing injections, with Dysport among our options

Botulinum toxin reduces the activity of the muscles creating those lines

Tight-feeling, rough skin with dullness and fine lines

Moisturizer, gentle skin care, and daily sun protection

Dryness can accentuate fine lines and make the complexion look less fresh

Fine lines and crepey texture around the eyes that persist after dryness is addressed

Re2O Fine

Its finer-particle formulation is used mainly for delicate eye-area skin; pigment and hollows are assessed separately

Mildly loose skin around the cheeks or jawline

XERF for firmness and contour; Ultherapy PRIME when a targeted ultrasound lifting approach fits the area

These treatments address tissue laxity through a gradual collagen response

Brown patches or spots that make the complexion look uneven

A pigmentation assessment, followed by treatment for the identified cause

Melasma, sun spots, and other pigment changes need different treatment plans

Expression lines: start with wrinkle-relaxing injections

For lines driven by frowning or raising your eyebrows, start with botulinum toxin treatment. Dysport is one of the products available in our wrinkle treatment menu. We assess muscle movement and brow position to select the injection sites and dose. Lines that remain when your face is relaxed also need a look at skin texture and how deeply the line is established.

After treatment, bruising or swelling can occur, and in rare cases, the brow or eyelid may temporarily droop.

Dryness or crepey eye-area skin: choose care for the right problem

If dryness is making your skin look dull, start with consistent moisturization and a gentle routine. Use broad-spectrum SPF 40 or higher daily, and review products that sting or irritate your skin with your clinician. Once dryness is better controlled, it is easier to see which fine lines still need treatment.

For persistent fine lines and crepey texture around the eyes, we recommend Re2O Fine. It is an injectable skin booster made from human-derived dermal matrix, with finer particles than original Re2O. At GU Clinic, we mainly use it for the delicate eye area. Our skin-booster guide explains how this differs from Rejuran and other options.

Loss of firmness: add a tightening treatment when the skin is loose

For mild laxity with a less defined cheek or jawline contour, we recommend XERF as a starting option. Its radiofrequency (RF) treatment modes allow energy delivery to be adjusted for different areas and tissue depths. If mild sagging beneath the chin is the priority, Ultherapy PRIME is another option we offer; it uses focused ultrasound with real-time imaging to guide treatment.

We assess your skin thickness, facial volume, and areas of sagging to recommend XERF or Ultherapy PRIME. You can expect gradual improvement in firmness over the following months. Temporary redness, swelling, or discomfort can occur; Ultherapy PRIME can also cause temporary nerve-related effects.

Uneven pigment or hollowing: address the cause of the shadows

If brown patches are the main reason your skin looks dull, prioritize pigment treatment. For melasma, sun protection and topical medication often form the foundation, with procedures added selectively. We first identify the pigment problem before choosing a procedure.

If shadows come from lost facial volume, a filler assessment may be appropriate. We add filler only when there is a specific volume goal. Fillers have their own risks, including rare blockage of a blood vessel that can damage tissue or vision, so the area and product need careful assessment.

What might a combination treatment plan include?

A useful combination gives each treatment a distinct purpose. These examples show how we would structure the discussion; the products, areas, and appointment schedule are confirmed after examination.

Expression lines, dry-looking skin, and mild laxity

We recommend Dysport for expression lines, daily moisturizing care for dryness, and XERF for mild laxity. If your frown lines are your main concern, prioritize that treatment and skin care, then reassess whether the firmness change still bothers you enough to add XERF. If your jawline is the main concern, put tightening first in the plan.

This is the order of your priorities. The actual order of procedures within an appointment is a separate decision.

Crepey eye-area skin and a softer jawline

Re2O Fine for eye-area texture and XERF for lower-face firmness address different areas and goals. We recommend Fine when the eye concern is fine lines and crepey texture. Brown discoloration or a deep hollow around the eyes calls for a different plan. The two treatments can be part of a course, with timing set around the products, areas, and recovery needs.

Brown patches and frown lines

A pigment-treatment plan addresses uneven color, while Dysport addresses the muscle movement behind frown lines. If pigmentation is what makes you look tired, prioritize that plan and add wrinkle treatment only if the expression lines are also a concern. If fine lines or rough texture also bother you, we recommend adding a skin booster to address those concerns.

Can you have the treatments on the same day?

Some combinations can be performed in one visit; others work better as separate appointments. The decision depends on the exact treatment, the areas involved, your skin's condition, and your previous procedures. Separating visits also gives swelling or irritation time to settle before the next treatment.

When ultrasound lifting with real-time imaging, such as Ultherapy PRIME, is combined with Botox or certain fillers in one visit, the ultrasound treatment generally comes first. For XERF and Re2O Fine, the treatment areas and your skin condition help determine whether to treat on the same day or space out your appointments.

Even if frown lines are your main concern and you choose Dysport for that reason, you may receive Ultherapy PRIME first if you are having both treatments that day. Your main concern guides which treatments we recommend; the combination determines their order during your visit.

How should you plan treatment during a short stay in Seoul?

Choose one main goal, then add treatments only when your schedule leaves enough room for recovery and follow-up. Schedule important photo sessions or events before treatment when possible. Injection marks, redness, swelling, or bruising can affect the early appearance, while tightening results continue to develop after a short trip has ended.

To prepare for your GU Clinic visit, share:

  • The one or two changes that bother you most.

  • Previous treatments and roughly when you had them.

  • Your arrival, departure, and important event dates.

  • Your budget and how much time you can allow for visible swelling or bruising to settle.
