Dysport vs Botox in Korea: What Matters for Frown and Forehead Lines?
Choosing Dysport or Botox in Korea? Compare treatment plans, total cost, timing, and your past results for frown and forehead lines.
If you want early improvement in frown lines during your Korea trip, Dysport is worth considering for its fast onset. In a randomized comparison of four botulinum toxin formulations, Dysport was among the fastest-acting options at the day-three assessment. If you are happy with your previous Botox results, continuing with the same product is also a sensible starting point.
For forehead lines, we assess how your forehead and brows move together. Compare each product’s plan for the same areas, the total cost, and your previous results. Each product uses its own dosing units, so the full treatment plan is the useful comparison.
Is Dysport or Botox the better choice for my lines?
Dysport and Botox (BOTOX Cosmetic) are two brands of botulinum toxin type A used to soften expression lines. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that crease your skin when you make facial expressions.
The products contain different active ingredients and use different dosing units. To choose between them, consider where your lines appear, how much facial movement you want to keep, and how you responded to previous treatment. If both are suitable, compare the total cost for the areas you want treated.
How do the two products compare?

Comparing cost | Compare the total Dysport quote for your planned areas and amount. | Compare the total Botox quote for the same areas and its own planned amount. |
Fast onset is a practical reason to choose Dysport when you want to start seeing softer frown lines soon. Discuss it alongside your preferred amount of facial movement, previous treatment response, and total cost. Allow a few days for early changes and more time for the result to develop.
Clinical research supports Dysport’s effectiveness in improving frown lines. Consider it alongside the areas you want treated, the total cost, and your response to previous treatment.
For forehead lines, the injection plan needs to account for brow movement. The forehead muscle also lifts your eyebrows, so reducing its activity can affect brow position. We assess that movement alongside the muscles between the brows, then discuss a plan that fits your forehead and the expression you want to retain.
Which option fits my skin and wrinkle concerns?
Your situation | A useful starting point | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
You want early improvement in frown lines | Consider Dysport for its fast onset, then compare the full treatment plan and cost. | Early visible change is a reason to choose it; your planned areas and previous response help guide treatment. |
You liked your previous Botox result and how long it lasted | Start by discussing continued Botox treatment. | Your own experience gives us a reference for movement, appearance, and timing. |
Forehead lines come with heavy brows, or you use your forehead to lift your brows | With either product, tell us if you rely on your forehead muscles to lift your brows so we can account for that movement. | The forehead muscle helps hold the brows up. Assessing forehead and frown muscles together helps shape the plan. |
You want softer lines while keeping facial expression | Discuss either product with a specific goal for the movement you want to retain. | Injection sites and the product-specific amount help balance line reduction with expression. |
Deep creases remain when your face is relaxed | Assess both the muscle-related lines and the crease that remains at rest; discuss additional skin treatment if needed. | Relaxing the muscle addresses repeated folding, while the remaining crease may benefit from a broader skin treatment plan. |
Dryness makes fine lines more noticeable | Start with moisturizing and sun protection; consider either toxin if expression lines are also a concern. | Moisturizing can soften the appearance of some fine lines. Match toxin treatment to the muscle-related part of your concern. |
For lines that remain at rest, the consultation can include skin treatments alongside botulinum toxin. If you are sensitive to injections or bruise easily, discuss comfort measures, medications, and your photo schedule when planning either product.
Why do the units and prices look so different?
A unit describes the strength of the medicine, measured using a test specific to that product. Dysport and Botox have different unit systems, so the dose is planned separately for each product. A Dysport quote may show more units because it uses a different scale. Check which product the quoted units refer to and which areas will be treated.
To compare prices, use the total quote for the same treatment areas, including the proposed amount and included charges. This is more useful than comparing the price per unit.
Check on the quote | Why it matters |
|---|---|
Exact product and its unit system | The product name identifies the active ingredient and the unit system used in your plan. |
Frown lines only, or frown lines plus forehead | The treatment area changes the plan and total charge. |
Proposed amount and total price | These show the cost of the full product-specific treatment plan. |
Included charges and follow-up arrangements | Ask about taxes, consultation charges, and what follow-up is available during or after your trip. |
If both products suit your needs and the Dysport quote is lower for the same areas, choosing Dysport can help keep the total cost down.
How soon will I see a change—and how long will it last?
Changes typically begin within a few days and develop over the first week. Improvement commonly lasts around three to four months. Your previous treatment response helps us discuss the timing to expect from your next session.
Track the first visible change, how the result develops, and when movement returns. The early changes tell you about onset; the return of movement helps you understand how long your result lasted.
If you have important photos tomorrow, take the photos first and schedule treatment afterward. The effect develops over several days, and redness or bruising can affect your photos. During a short stay, leave time to observe the changes after treatment, agree on when to review the result, and confirm how to contact us after returning home. Plan around your important dates as well as the product’s expected onset.
What should I tell you if I’ve had treatment before?
Your previous response helps make the comparison personal. Tell us the product, treated areas, date, and amount if you know them. More useful than “I liked Botox” is whether you liked the amount of movement, when you noticed improvement, and when it faded.
If your brows felt heavy or your expression looked uneven, describe that too. Those concerns make the muscle assessment and injection plan especially relevant. If you saw little improvement, we need to review the previous plan and when you assessed it before deciding whether a brand change addresses your concern.
Also tell us about allergies, medications, muscle or nerve conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any other recent botulinum toxin treatment. A cow’s milk protein allergy is a contraindication for Dysport.
Possible side effects include injection-site pain, bruising, headache, and temporary weakness or drooping. Seek urgent medical care for difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking after treatment.
Questions before your visit
Can I have a consultation without previous treatment records?
Yes. You can start a first consultation by describing what bothers you and how much facial movement you would like to retain. Bring previous treatment records if you have them.
Can I switch from Botox to Dysport?
Yes, you can consider switching to Dysport. We plan the dose for the new product and take your previous treatment into account. Tell us when you last had treatment and whether its effect is still present so the next session can be planned around it.
