Procedure Information
- Apply the prescribed ointment 2–3 times daily for a week. If scabs form, continue use until they fall off naturally.
- Mild itching may occur; if severe swelling or irritation develops, visit a clinic.
- Cold compresses help reduce inflammation.
- Avoid getting the area wet on the day of treatment.
- Avoid alcohol, smoking, sauna, and exercise for 2 weeks.
- Keep skin moisturized and apply sunscreen when going outside.
- Pigment may rise after treatment, making the area look darker or less effective temporarily.
- Do not pop blisters; contact a clinic if they appear.
- If scabs form, don’t pick them off.
- Treatments can be done every 4 weeks.
- Fading begins 6–8 weeks later and may take longer with darker pigment.
- If clinic visits are difficult, disinfect the area at home or visit a local clinic.
- For small blisters (size of a cotton swab tip), don’t pop—apply ointment gently.
